Sonam Wangchuk was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) on 26 September, two days later, four people were killed and 90 were injured in the event of the state’s demand and the sixth schedule for Ladakh.

The Supreme Court on Monday (October 6) sought a response from the Center and Center of Ladakh on a petition filed by Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali J. Angmo, challenging the custody of climate activist under the National Security Act, and demanding her immediate release.
However, a bench of Justice Arvind Kumar and NV Anjaria refused to pass any order to provide the basis of detention to Wangchuk’s wife and posted the case for hearing on 14 October.
Wangchuk was detained on 26 September under the Strict National Security Act (NSA), two days later, four people were killed and 90 were injured after the state -demanded protests and the sixth schedule situation for Ladakh.
Wangchuk is kept in Jodhpur Jail in Rajasthan.
