The Supreme Court on Thursday, November 13 refused to intervene in the Cauvery river water sharing dispute between the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
According to News 18, a bench led by CJI BR Gavai and comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria dismissed the Tamil Nadu government’s plea against the Karnataka government’s plan to build the Mekedatu dam on the Cauvery river.
The bench termed the plea as “premature” and said the matter was already under consideration of experts and refused to interfere with the top court.
