New Delhi, October 6 (IANS) Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday doubted the Congress and other opposition parties “to attack the Indian armed forces” and repeatedly doubted their ability and said that people would never believe in such a ‘negative’ point of view. They called their conduct “unfortunate” and said that they can never be believed by the people of the country.
His comment came in response to Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai about suspicion on the statements of the government and the armed forces, the success of Operation Sindoor.
Indian Air Force head Marshal AP Singh recently revealed for the first time that Indian forces shot US and Chinese -made fighter jets in Pakistan during a four -day military campaign in May.
Reacting rapidly to Ajay Rai’s comments in an interview with IANAS, Rijiju said, “It is unfortunate that whenever our top army officials respond to Pakistan, Congress and opposition leaders attack our armed forces before Pakistan. Can you imagine such a situation?”
He said that when Pakistan resorts to lies and misinformation, India’s armed forces respond with strength and integrity; However, the opposition chooses to ‘align’ with them and question their military operations.
“When Pakistan lies, our Air Force, Army, and Navy gives a suitable reply. But before Pakistan can also counter, the Congress starts targeting our soldiers. Our army is strong to protect the nation, yet they face criticism from within. It may not be more unfortunate than that.”
The Union Minister said that while political parties are free to question the government, the armed forces attack the amount to cross the line.
“It was acceptable when the Congress and some other opposition parties questioned the government, but now they are speaking against the nation. The people of our country are intelligent; they know that the echoing of the party speaking against our armed forces and the language of Pakistan has damaged the nation. Such parties will never be given a place in power by the citizens of India,” he said.
Rai’s comments criticized the BJP, who accused him of “weakening” the soldiers and cast aspirations on the integrity of the army.
Earlier, Rai had told IANS, “CDS says something, the army chief says something else, and different officers make different statements. It clearly indicates that something is wrong. The truth and reality should be brought openly to the country, and the whole matter should be clarified by PM Modi.”
The BJP has accused the Congress of “demorla” and playing in the hands of opponents of India through its statements.
