Striking workers confirm the new deal with WSIB; To work back on Monday

The federal workers of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) have confirmed a new agreement, ending the almost two months strike.

Ontario Compensation Employees Union (Oceu/CUPE), which represents more than 3,600 frontline members, says workers will return to the job for the first time on Monday.

Union president Harry Gosalin said that he received an individual phone call from Premier Doug Ford last week, called “Direct and Productive”.

While the details of the agreement have not been released, an American company was called an important point in negotiations for wages, assignment and outsourcing for outsourcing of 26 Ontario jobs.

According to WSIB, its final offer called for salary increases by 6.75 percent in three years, which will be more than $ 98,000 to $ 104,500. Also, the board stated that this Cassalide would dedicate full -time resources to work with the Joint Foundation Committee to remove concerns and identify the root causes.

Workers staged the first strike in the agency’s 111 -year history on 22 May after negotiating a new contract with the board.

WSIB provides wage-loss benefits, medical coverage and assistance to those who have injuries and diseases related to work.
