Patna, Nov 9 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday stepped up his attack on the grand alliance, accusing the RJD-Congress rule of destroying Bihar’s rich and glorious past and bringing it to a level where it faced a literacy crisis during their rule.
Holding several rallies on the last day of the election campaign, the UP CM attacked the RJD-Congress alliance for “plunging” the state into “jungle raj” and also compared it with the NDA’s development model under the double-engine government in the state.
Urging the attendees to be careful while casting their votes, he said, “Those creating trouble in Bihar, a state with a glorious past, are the real culprits. Their tainted and dark past is not trustworthy.”
Campaigning in Sikti Assembly constituency, he said, “Those who created an identity crisis for the citizens, committed the sin of bringing jungle raj in Bihar and pushed Bihar to the margins, are trying to mislead people with big announcements and promises of jobs. But people with a tainted and dark past should not be trusted.”
The UP CM further said, “The awakening of Bihar happened after 2005 when Nitish Kumar became the CM of Bihar and the NDA government was formed in the state. Today, the youth of Bihar are creating new models of development across the world by innovating in every walk of life including civil servants, IAS, IPS, IFS, startups and entrepreneurs.”
The senior BJP leader said there were more than 60 massacres and more than 30,000 kidnappings under the 15-year-long Jungle Raj and even the educated class, including engineers, doctors, children and daughters, were forced to live in constant fear.
Pointing to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and public welfare schemes, he said that “46 crore people have been integrated into the banking system. Money has been transferred directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries.”
Taking a jibe at the opposition, he said, “The brokerage of Congress and RJD has ended.” He also mocked the Lalu-era for the multi-crore fodder scam.
The Chief Minister also appealed to voters to marginalize the “power-hungry” opposition and urged them to support the NDA to remain unbeaten in Bihar’s journey.
