Chennai, October 18 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, accusing it of political discrimination and weakening the federal spirit of governance.

His comments come a day after state Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu made allegations during the Assembly discussion on the first supplementary demands for grants that the Center has consistently shown “political bias” against Tamil Nadu by withholding funds for education, welfare and infrastructure projects.

Addressing the X, the Chief Minister said that not only Thennarasu but “people across the country” were questioning the conduct of the Central government. “I am raising some of those questions,” Stalin wrote, posing a series of pointed questions targeting the BJP.

“After corrupt politicians join the BJP alliance, how does the washing machine clean them?” he asked, referring to the selective enforcement of corruption charges. He also questioned “why the names of the country’s major schemes and laws are only in Hindi and Sanskrit,” calling it a reflection of linguistic arrogance and cultural imposition.

Stalin criticized Union ministers for “restricting young minds by propagating unscientific superstitions” and accused the BJP of misusing governors in opposition-ruled states to “create confusion and disrupt elected governments”. The Chief Minister also questioned the “Special Intensive Revision (SIR)” of the voter list and alleged that it was being used to “rigg and steal votes” for the electoral benefit of the BJP.

Referring to the archaeological discoveries in Tamil Nadu, he asked why the Center was not ready to recognize the findings at Keeladi which establish the antiquity of iron in Tamil culture. “Why are you creating obstacles to stop the Keeladi report even after scientific verification?” He said.

Concluding his post, Stalin wondered whether any of these questions would be answered or whether the ruling party would “as always, resort to spreading false propaganda through WhatsApp University.”

The Chief Minister’s remarks are seen as part of the DMK’s growing campaign to highlight alleged Centre-state disparities and protect Tamil identity and autonomy within India’s federal structure.
