Chennai, 6 October (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin condemned the incident inside the Supreme Court, where a 71 -year -old advocate on Monday tried to bounce a shoe in the Chief Justice (CJI) Justice Bra Gawai of India during the court proceedings.
Calling the Act “embarrassing” and “attacking the highest judicial office of our democracy”, Stalin said and urged the country to promote the security of democratic institutions and respect for the judiciary.
The attacker recognized a senior advocate Rakesh Kishore, who was allegedly upset by the recent comments by the Chief Justice in a case related to the statue of Lord Vishnu.
As he was being escorted out of the court, kishore shouted, “Sanatan ka apmaan nahi sahenge”
Despite the disintegration, CJI Gawai remained calm and continued proceedings without any interruption.
India’s Bar Council responded rapidly to the incident, which announced an immediate suspension to practice the law to the teenager’s license.

He said, “We should nurture a culture that respects and protects our institutions and demonstrate maturity in our conduct,” he said that intentional attempts to intimidate or shame constitutional authorities threatens the country’s democratic fabric.
