Stacey and Freddie face jail as she confesses their crime in EastEnders

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) lands herself in a spot of bother in EastEnders soon as she tells Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) what really happened the night Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) was attacked.

Last month, Freddie (Bobby Brazier) saved Stacey from being raped by Theo by grabbing the stalker and brutally beating him.

With the help of Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), Stacey and Freddie took a huge risk and planted a weapon on Theo, to make it look as though Freddie had acted in self defence, before calling for an ambulance and police.

Despite both Freddie and Stacey sticking to their stories, Freddie was then arrested for attempted murder, and was questioned the following day.

Freddie was then released on bail, much to his relief, and though he was determined to stay on Albert Square and prove that he had nothing to hide, Jean (Gillian Wright) wasn’t sure that was the best idea.

Terrified that he would feel the pressure and end up accidentally revealing their lie, Jean suggested that he go and visit mum Little Mo, until the news of his arrest had blown over.

Coming up, it’s the day of Theo’s plea hearing and Stacey is feeling anxious.

She meets up with Theo and tries to manipulate him into pleading guilty by promising to restart their ‘relationship’ once he’s served his time.

However, Stacey is left wondering if she’s made the situation worse when Theo reacts badly to her suggestion.

After the hearing, Jack comforts a drunken Stacey after she tearfully confesses her fears about Theo.

Back at Number 27, Jack is shocked when Stacey admits that she planted the wrench on Theo to cover up Freddie’s actions.

In the aftermath, Jack tells Stace that due to his position, he must inform the authorities of what she’s said.

A desperate Stacey then details her story and pleads with Jack to keep quiet, which he reluctantly accepts.

The pair have a heart-to-heart about the past as Stacey is touched by his support, but could this turn into something more?
