Stabbing a woman on the streetcar in Eastern Chinatown sends a woman to the hospital

The Toronto Police is searching for a male suspect on Monday afternoon after stabbing a woman on a TTC streetcar in East Chinatown in the city.

Investigators say the incident took place at 1:30 pm near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

Police say the victim was taken out of the spot after stabbing, but was found shortly after in Queen Street East and Munro Street area. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect is described by the police as a white man, with a thin construction of about 40 years old. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and a black hat.
