Srinagar, May 06: In a collaborative attempt, Srinagar Police today organized a comprehensive mock drill in Dal Lake in coordination with tourist police and state disaster response forces (SDRF) teams, focusing on the preparation of response to casual scenarios such as boat capping and drowning incidents.
The team of Srinagar Police, Tourist Police and SDRF personnel equipped with essential resources and gear, according to the established guidelines and safety protocols, practices the rescue and reaction processes in real time with a view to reduce effective rescue and reaction measures during accidental conditions.
SDRF teams have also increased capacity building and logistic support to incorporate any future contingency.
During the mock drill, SSP Enforcement, SP Zone East Srinagar, SP Headquarters Srinagar, DSP Headquarters Srinagar and DSP were present to monitor the exercise of SDRF preparations.
This mock drill outlines the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in ensuring quick and effective reactions to emergency conditions, strengthening overall public safety and preparations in the region.
