Srinagar, 25 July: In its constant efforts to eliminate infrastructure supporting drug mens and drug trafficking, the Srinagar Police has attached a residential property of about ₹ 55 lakh under the intoxicating drugs and Psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act.
According to a press statement, the attached assets include a two -storey residential house, which is constructed 13.5 Marlus of Land Asar Khasra number 2865, which is priced at around Rs 55 lakh,
It reads that in the case of action, FIR number 85/2024 U/S 8/20, 21, 22 NDPS Act of Police Station Sora, in which the owner of the property attached is included as the accused’s son Hilal Ahmed Tiplo R/O Dawood Colony, Ankara, Sora, as accused.
The statement states that the accused person is a notorious drug pedaler and has a history of being involved in drug pedaling, mainly targets local youth, pose a serious threat to public health and safety.
Investigations have revealed that the above assets were acquired through income from smuggling illegal drugs, it reads.
It further reads that acting under sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, Srinagar Police formally confiscated and seized immovable property according to the appointed legal process.
The assets cannot be sold, transferred or dealt with without prior approval from the competent authority, it reads.
This development marks a decisive step in the widespread strategy of Jammu and Kashmir Police to destroy the financial infrastructure of the drug network.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police continue to prefer a zero-optimity approach to drug-related crimes, the aim of which the community, especially its weak youth, have been written in the statement, from the dangers of drug abuse.
