Srinagar Fire Department issues security advisor amid heat conditions

Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, Srinagar, on Monday, issued an advice in view of the rising temperature and prevailing heat in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the advisor, all fire fighting services have been instructed to spread awareness about fire safety and preventive measures to reduce fire -related damage during the summer season.

The advisor has mentioned some tips to the public such as removing dust, leaves, and adhesive materials from its surroundings, avoiding overloading electrical sockets, and shutting off power when not at home.

“People are urged to keep cooking from electric cable furniture and flammable items, stores matches and lighters safely from children, and avoid cooking during peak summer hours, ensuring proper ventilation,” reads it.

Additional Caution, according to the advisor? Include cigarette bums, fire pits and campfiers safely, following local rules on burning of garbage, while farmers are advised against the burning stubble unless they are done carefully under supervision.
