New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS) SPARSH (Pension Administration System – Defence) Project, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Defence, is an integrated digital platform designed to ensure transparent, efficient and paperless sanction and disbursement of defense pension.
The system aims to bring all defense pensioners under a unified platform, enabling seamless access to pension sanction, disbursement, verification and grievance redressal services.
In line with this vision, Controller of Defense Accounts (CDA) Guwahati organized a tactile outreach program on 21 November 2025 at Sainik Bhawan, District Sainik Welfare Office, Jorhat.
The program focused on addressing pension related issues of defense pensioners and family pensioners with special emphasis on submission of digital life certificate through Jeevan Pramaan.
The program was coordinated by Puranjan Roy, ACDA, Area Accounts Office, Jorhat and Debjyoti Sardar, SAO, Lao (A) Jorhat.
Around 300 defense pensioners and family pensioners from Jorhat, Shibsagar, Majuli, Golaghat and surrounding areas participated in the event along with their family members.
A dedicated team of CDA Guwahati facilitated on-site grievance redressal, generation of digital life certificate, data verification and resolution of pension related queries.
Punjab National Bank also extended support by addressing banking queries and providing essential financial services.
Ambrish Barman, IDAS, Controller of Defense Accounts (Army), Guwahati, was present throughout the program and ensured its smooth conduct. Appreciating the enthusiastic participation of pensioners, he reiterated that Sparsh is committed to ensuring accuracy, transparency and timely pension disbursement.
He highlighted the challenges faced by pensioners especially in remote areas and emphasized the role of the Defense Accounts Department as a facilitator providing practical assistance for digital life certificates, data verification and immediate rectification of pension anomalies.
He confirmed that such outreach programs will continue to be conducted to strengthen pensioner services and incorporate valuable feedback for continuous improvement in the touch system.
Colonel Chiranjeet Konwar (Retd.), District Sainik Welfare Officer, Jorhat, underlined the importance of touch platform, proper documentation and timely submission of Digital Life Certificate.
