Donna Ganguly, famous Odissi dancer and wife of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, has filed a complaint with Kolkata Police regarding obscene comments made against her on social media.
Based on her complaint, the police have registered a formal complaint against unknown persons.
The complaint was lodged at Thakurpukur police station in Kolkata on the night of Wednesday, November 26. In her complaint, Donna has alleged that she is facing many obscene and body-shaming comments online.
According to a report in News 18, the complaint states that a Facebook page has been continuously posting objectionable comments after her recent performance at the Kolkata International Film Festival.
The 2025 edition of the annual festival took place from 6 to 13 November.
This is not the first time Donna Ganguly has reported cyber-related issues. Earlier in March, he had filed a complaint against a female YouTuber for allegedly spreading derogatory content about her family online.
Reportedly, the YouTuber, who claims to be a neighbor of the Ganguly family, made several allegations against the former Indian cricket captain’s family.
In 2022, Donna had filed a complaint after her Facebook account was allegedly hacked. His e-mail associated with the account was also hacked. Earlier in 2021, he had lodged a complaint with the police regarding a fake Facebook page created in his name.
