Thiruvananthapuram, 22 September (IANS) veteran Congress leader and CWC member Ramesh Chennithala was unexpectedly boosted when CPP President Sonia Gandhi and MP Priyanka Gandhi recorded a surprising presence during their anti -drug campaign in Wayanad, Kerala.
Sudden surprise affected party employees and strengthened Chennithla’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness against drug abuse in Kerala.
Talking to IANS, Chennithla described the moment as “actually special”.
She initially requested Priyanka Gandhi to inaugurate the event, as she was in her constituency, but refused due to lack of time.
“I asked Priyanka if she could inaugurate it, but she said she was pressed for time,” she said.
However, soon after the program ended on Sunday, a vehicle arrived, and Chennitla was asked to contact it. For his surprise, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were inside.
“Soniaji asked about the program, and hearing that it was a fight against drugs, she congratulated me. Priyanka then stepped out, replied to the thunderous thunderous thunder to the party employees,” Chennithla remembered.
“It was a very happy moment, and it gives me new pace in this campaign.”
“Later, Rahulji (Gandhi, who is also in Wayanad), after hearing about my campaign, called me and congratulated me,” Chennithla said.
Chennithla is organizing large rallies at the district headquarters as part of the statewide anti -drug drive.
On October 17, Idukki has three more rallies with the last one.
Following these events, the campaign will expand to schools and colleges across the state.
The Congress veteran said, “Drugs should be seriously dealt with. Support and encouragement from Soniaji and Priyanka Gandhi promotes a significant morale. It outlines the party’s commitment to social issues and sends a strong message to the youth,” said the Congress veteran.
The party staff personally expressed enthusiasm to see two of the top leaders, given that their presence highlighted the engagement with the Congress’ ground initiative.
Amazing journey is expected to increase the impact of the campaign, which attracts more attention to the fight against drug abuse in Kerala.
