In the latest episode, the Slough House team are tasked with monitoring the rallies of two divisive London mayoral candidates, Zahar Jaffrey (Nick Mohammed) and Dennis Gimble (Christopher Villiers), over fears of an assassination attempt.

However, things go haywire at Gimble’s rally not because of a killer but because of the error-prone Agent River Cartwright (jack lowden) and his introverted colleague JK Coe (Tom Brooke) – one of whom accidentally drops a can of paint on the politician’s head, killing him instantly.

“It’s awesome,” said Chung, who plays computer expert Roddy Ho in the Apple+ series.

There are only two episodes left in season five, which Independent awarded four starsIn his review, Chris Bennion wrote: “The performances remain superb, the script just as sharp, and the comedy/action balance is handled beautifully.

“And Jackson Lamb (gary oldman) is truly God’s gift (albeit for television, not women). He’s satisfyingly bad-tempered this season – yes, even more so than usual – every other phrase out of his mouth is “f*** off”. In fact, all of the residents of Slough House in these episodes seem particularly cretinous and moldy. It works magic.”
