A Sky spokesman said: “We are aware of a technical issue affecting some Sky Q and Sky+ customers, resulting in ‘No satellite signal’ messages. This issue has now been fully resolved – affected customers will need to restart their devices to restore service.”

The latest outage came after tens of thousands of Sky customers reported being unable to watch TV last May.

Most of those affected subsequently reported that their TVs kept crashing, preventing them from watching live broadcasts.

Some users said a message popped up stating they had no signal, while others said they were unable to view online content even though they had a good connection.

Sky Q box owners say trying to load shows doesn’t work and their boxes crash on boot even when the TV is unplugged.

It is understood that there is a technical issue causing some Sky Q set-top boxes to go into standby mode.

A Sky spokesperson said at the time: “We’re sorry that some customers were unable to access Sky Q last night. The issue was quickly resolved and services have been restored.”
