Srinagar, 06 July: In response to the above above temperature and extended dry mantra in Kashmir Valley, the Directorate of Extension has issued a detailed advice, which has been urged to adopt farmers to reduce yield and productivity loss.
In a consultant released by director expansion, Scout-Kashmir reads, in view of the above temperature and long dry mantra in the Kashmir Valley, farmers are advised to take timely measures to reduce stress and avoid potential yield and productivity loss.
Farmers are advised to take all field operations and intervention preferably during the cooler parts of the day (morning or late evening) and follow the specific recommendations of the commodity/ crop.
For rice: Irrigation in the morning/evening. Look for explosion in unsuccessful rainfall fields, prepare land for moong as a casual crop. For maize and pulse: providing protective irrigation fields to maintain soil moisture, reads it.
For vegetables: Irrigation in cooler hours and avoid transplanting. If the soil is very dry wet grass and manual weeding to avoid moisture loss, it reads.
Apple orchard: To prevent sunburn, irrigate regular and whitewash tree tights. Keep an eye on scabs and mites as high temperatures in the form of high temperature outbreaks for moisture protection, it reads.
For floriculture: maintain moisture through multicing agroporestry and forest areas: delay in fertilizer application and sorting. Protection of moisture using organic wet grass and maintain firebracks and remove dry fuel, it reads.
Livestock (cattle, sheep, goats): Provide clean, cool water advertising libitum. Keep the shelters shaded and clean. Ban the grazing in the morning/evening. Avoid green fodder during peak heat (risk of blot). Regular Deworm, it reads.
For poultry: Ensure proper ventilation and shade. Add glucose/vitamin supplements to the water. Provide shaded revolving areas and avoid congestion, it reads.
For apical: Regulate the temperature of the hive with a wet gun bag and keep clean water near the urticaria, the advisor reads.
For Cerriculture: Maintain hygiene and proper ventilation. Avoid feeding wet leaves. Disinfect rearing room before the next cycle. To avoid cocoon’s deformity and silk insect stress, ensure serculture hygiene and environmental control, it reads.
