Six people, including four children, were injured when some suspicious material allegedly exploded in the district on Saturday, police said.

He said two adults suffered serious injuries and were being treated in hospital.

“Six (persons) have been injured in the blast,” Superintendent of Police (Bidar) Pradeep Gunti told PTI. Four of them are children. His condition is said to be stable. “Two adults have sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.”

According to the police, the incident took place on the road leading to Molige Maraiya temple in Molkhera village of Homnabad taluk.

They were walking on the road when a sudden explosion reportedly occurred, injuring six people.

The SP said that along with the crime team, forensic experts are also inspecting the spot.

The official said the nature of the material that caused the explosion and other details are currently being confirmed and are part of the investigation.
