The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) says that it is investigating a deadly police-shell shooting in Niagara Falls on Wednesday morning.
SIU said in a release, “Officers were included in the incident with repeated criminal parole enforcement (rope) unit and the area of Stanley Avenue and Peer Street took place around 11:15 pm.”
“A man has been declared dead in the hospital.”
Niagra Regional Police Service (NRPS) said that the situation included several police agencies, but could not provide further details due to the ongoing SIU investigation.
Niagra police said in a statement, “We can confirm that no NRPS officials were directly involved in the incident.” “However, NRPS officials assisted in response.”
