Ayodhya: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with her family on Thursday performed the aarti of Lord Ram Lala at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.
He also visited Shri Ram Darbar and worshiped Goddess Durga, revered as the mother of the universe.
During her visit, Sitharaman performed the Rudrabhishek of Lord Mahadev at Kuber Tila.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai accompanied the Finance Minister and briefed him about the ongoing and completed aspects of the temple construction.
Expressing her faith and pride on seeing the grandeur of the newly constructed temple, Sitharaman said that Ayodhya represents the living spirit of India’s faith, culture and civilization.
The temple courtyard echoed with hymns and chants of “Jai Shri Ram” by devotees, while the gentle breeze of the Saryu river made the atmosphere divine.
The Trust welcomed the Finance Minister with a bouquet and discussed the security of the temple, darshan arrangements and upcoming development plans.
Sitharaman also reviewed the preparations for the upcoming flag hoisting ceremony.
On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna and Agriculture Minister and Ayodhya district in-charge Surya Pratap Shahi were present.
Sitharaman arrived in Ayodhya on Wednesday on a two-day visit, during which she unveiled the statues of three eminent South Indian music saints – Tyagaraja Swamigal, Purandara Das and Arunachal Kavi – at Brihaspati Kund. State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also with him.
Ayodhya stands today not just as a city, but as a living embodiment of India’s eternal faith, culture and civilization.
Since the completion of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the number of devotees from India and across the world continues to increase. Every visitor experiences the sacred union of the timeless heritage of the Ramayana era and the splendor of modern India.
