Sirsa, Pankaj Singh leads Delhi ministers in Ring Road Clinis Drive

An official said that New Delhi, 23 September (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, ministers, MLAs, councilors, city BJP leaders and MCD teams started a cleanliness drive on Circular Ring Road on Tuesday.

The mega sanitation campaign was executed in a parallel patch with ministers, legislators, councilors and MCD commissioners in a coordinated patch on Ring Road, leading to a parallel spot drive to cover the entire ring road in Delhi.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa led the cleanliness campaign at Ring Road Chowk of Raja Garden, and Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh took over the broom and led the cleanliness drive along the ring road in Dhaula Kuan.

Speaking after the campaign, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said, “On the occasion of our respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Seva Pakhwada -2025 is being seen in Delhi from 17 September to 2 October.”

“As part of this initiative, we have decided to ensure cleanliness not only in Central Delhi but also in the outer areas. Our PM has created us a sense of public service, which emphasizes a life that is clean, beautiful and healthy. That is why the cleanliness drive is being held in the capital,” he said.

Sirsa said, “All of Delhi are on the streets for cleanliness today – under the guidance of CM Rekha Gupta and in the spirit of service fortnight, we are committed to clean the entire ring road.”

The minister said, “Cleanliness is the foundation of PM Modi’s dream of Vikasit Delhi. Delhi will be developed when its roads are clean, people are healthy and safe; we have promised that we will not stop until we achieve it,” the minister said.

During the outreach, the minister interacted with residents and passengers, focused on issues related to waste collection frequency, arterial stretch. He assured time to time through joint action with MCD, PWD and Market Association.

“This is a public service in action – the government working shoulder to the citizens and the government; Our goal is a cleaner ring road every day, not only on the special drive,” he said.

Earlier, Delhi BJP leaders started a cleanliness drive around flyover at 71 places as part of the service fortnight of the Delhi government.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, along with BJP workers, local Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation employees, symbolically started a cleanliness drive in the bus stop and its surrounding areas under Rose Garden, ITO flyover.

Municipal councilor Ramkishore Sharma and Northeast District BJP President Britain Chaudhary also participated in the campaign.

Sachdeva said, “Continuous efforts are required to make Delhi beautiful, and one -day campaign is not enough. Cleanliness must be part of behavior, and all citizens need to join hands for efforts.”

At another point, Safdarjung-Sarojini Nagar flyover and bus stop under its surroundings, Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor, South Delhi District President Maya Bisht, Municipal Councilor Arun Bhatti, and BJP workers participated in the cleanliness drive.
