A day before the special intensive review (SIR) of voter lists begins in West Bengal, Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal held a meeting with all district magistrates on Monday as part of last-minute preparations, officials said.
“The CEO is holding a virtual meeting with all the DMs and giving necessary instructions before the formal rollout of the SIR tomorrow. He is giving them necessary instructions,” he said.
Block level officers (BLOs) and other officials have been directed to conduct door-to-door visits from Tuesday and complete the process without any fear.
“The door-to-door enumeration will be conducted from November 4 to December 4, when BLOs will distribute unique enumeration forms to voters and assist in verification of details of individuals as per the last SIR conducted in 2002,” the official said.
Elaborating on the process, he said voters can fill these enumeration forms in print or online.
