Singer Mallika Rajput found hanging at home in Sultanpur, police suspect suicide

Singer Vijay Lakshmi alias Mallika Rajput was found dead at her home on Tuesday under suspicious circumstances, police said. The body of the 35-year-old singer was found hanging from a fan in a room of her house in Sitakund area of ​​Kotwali police station area, they said.

Malika’s mother Sumitra Singh said she did not know when the incident took place and the family was sleeping. Shriram Pandey, in-charge of Kotwali police station, said that prima facie, it appeared to be a case of suicide.

However, he said the exact cause of death would be known after the autopsy report comes out.
