Injured Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammad Shami revealed that Shubman Gill will take over the captaincy of the IPL 2024 team. Gill replaces Hardik Pandya as GT captain and the all-rounder was traded to Mumbai Indians before the auction last year. Gill will make his captaincy debut against Hardik’s MI team at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Gill has a big chip on his shoulder in the GT team after Hardik led the team to the title in their inaugural season in 2022 and took them to the final last season where they lost to the Chennai Super Kings.
