Georgia Meloni Responding to calls for Italy to distance itself from the United States, it mockingly asked whether they should also “raid McDonald’s.”

Speaking at the New Year’s media briefing on Friday (January 9), the Italian Prime Minister said that although she disagreed Donald Trumpof Possible actions by Greenland, She doesn’t understand why some are calling for Italy to cut ties with the United States.

“What do you mean when you say we have to distance ourselves, that we have to leave NATO? We have to close U.S. bases? We have to cut off trade ties, we have to attack McDonald’s?”

Ms. Meloni is considered one of Mr. Trump’s closest allies in Europe and has often acted as a mediator between Mr. Trump and the European Union.
