In a case of brutal campus violence involving SFI activists, two junior students were attacked inside the party unit office on the Government College Kariavattom campus on Tuesday.
First-year BSc bio-chemistry students Abhishek (21) of Pallippuram, and Binz Jose (19) of Vattapara were grievously injured in the attack and hospitalised. They were allegedly forced to drink water after the attackers had spat in it and were beaten up using lethal weapons for not following directions. Cops have booked seven final-year students under various BNS sections.
This is the fourth incident of SFI violence on campus reported in the district in the last three months.
