Officials said on Tuesday (October 14) that 61 Naxalites, including senior cadre M Venugopal alias Bhupathi, have surrendered before the police in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district.
Bhupathi had a huge cash reward on his head, he said.
An official said that the Naxalites surrendered before the police late on Monday (October 13) night.
Those who surrendered include a central committee member and 10 members of a divisional committee of the banned CPI (Maoist), the official said.
