Kohima, October 6 (IANS) The Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joined the nationwide self -sufficient Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan on Monday, which aims to revive indigenous spirit by encouraging people to support and promote Indian products, which will strengthen the domestic economy.

The 90 -day nationwide self -sufficient Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan was launched in Delhi on 25 September to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attitude to make the country self -reliant.

Inaugurating the self -sufficient Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at the state BJP headquarters in Kohima, BJP Legislature Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton described it as the foundation of self -reliant India and said that this campaign is a re -confirmation of indigenous vows.

He reiterated the call of “every house indigenous, house-to-door indigenous” campaign and said that adopting indigenous products is not only an economic decision, but also an expression of cultural pride and national responsibility.

Considering the historical roots of Swadeshi, Patton reminded that this movement was the key to India’s freedom struggle, which was supported by leaders like Lokmanya Tilak, Sri Aurobindo and Mahatma Gandhi.

Patton said, “The purpose of this initiative is to rewrite a sense of self -sufficiency and encourage every citizen to support Indian -made products, promote local industries and empower our entrepreneurs. This campaign reminds us that India’s strength is enlightened in the ability and creativity of his people. Nagaland self -sufficient is involved in taking this pledge for India.”

He said that although a change towards import dependence was seen in the early decades after India’s independence, in 1964 RSS pracharak Dattopant Thangdi revived indigenous spirit, which emphasized the importance of economic self -sufficiency as national security.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that this heritage developed as a self -sufficient India movement in 1991 and since then it has gained new pace under Prime Minister Modi through initiatives like Make in India, Startup India, Digital India and Wocal for Local.

He said, he said, the three major pillars of national development – Swadeshi (promotion of Indian goods), self -language (propagation of Indian languages and indigenous knowledge), and self -consciousness (heritage, design and aesthetics) – which together form the basis of a developed India (developed India).

Highlighting India’s achievements in recent years, Patton recalled the country’s quick response during the Kovid-19 epidemic, when India had manufactured millions of PPE kits, ventilaters and vaccines within months, from production without PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) production.

He said that India not only protected its population, but also provided important vaccine assistance to more than 100 countries through vaccine friendship initiative. Patton said that India has already achieved the renewable energy target to achieve 50 percent of its established capacity by 2025.

According to the BJP leader, under the Make in India program, the country has made significant progress in defense production including tank, artillery, drone and indigenous fighter jet Tejas LCA MK1A.
