Security and scientific establishments in the border areas of Punjab

Security is to be upgraded to technical and scientific establishments located at North -Western places of Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan and Gujarat. In addition, significant IMD installations in Srinagar and Leh are to achieve a release security, according to a release.

Recognizing the strategic importance of these institutions, Jitendra Singh emphasized that scientific facilities, especially the Scientific and Industrial Research Council (CSIR), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), and the Ministry of Earth Sciences, especially the major pillars of Vederfrasature.

All scientific institutions have been directed to review and increase their current security protocols in light of the prevailing position. To ensure spontaneous coordination and protection, they have to inform the concerned district administration immediately.

Additionally, each institution needs to develop and broadcast standard operating procedures (SOPs) for emergency response, ensuring that both the employee and local officials are well prepared. To avoid students and researchers who would have returned to their home states, all upcoming exams and research proposals calls are to be postponed to the next notice.

Singh also directed the Director General of IMD to immediately increase the security system at his important establishments and data centers in Srinagar, Leh and other major places.

Singh focused on internal readiness and civil coordination besides external security, the minister also reviewed the internal security protocol and duzz and dons for institutions.

Singh concluded the meeting by directing all the concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive list of their facilities, especially in sensitive areas, and to share it with national security agencies for proper security. (AI)
