Gandarbal, July 09: Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Genderbal, Sheikh Babar Hussain, called a monthly review meeting to assess the performance of Legal Aid Defense Counsles (LADCs) in the district.
The objective of the meeting is to ensure the standards of service distribution, identify the challenges faced by Ladcs and discuss strategies for improvement.
All Ladc of DLSA GAPERBAL attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Deputy Ladc Ganderbal, presented the status of cases assigned to him, including 11 sessions tests and 20 magisterial tests in 31 cases.
The Secretary reviewed the case files and registers made by LADCS, observed their hard work in participating in cases and maintaining records.
Ladcs highlighted many issues that encounter them, which disrupt office work and record maintenance.
Secretary, DLSA Genderbal, according to the job profile, reviewed the performance of LADCS including their appearance, case management and compliance.
He emphasized LADCs to ensure a ban on participating in court proceedings and avoiding unnecessary adjournment. He also emphasized LADCs to provide wide legal services to increase awareness among the general public, including visits to jails and police stations and to raise awareness among the general public.
Secretary, DLSA Genderbel assured the Deputy LADC that he would take up the vacant posts of assistant employees along with the Jammu -Kashmir Legal Services Authority for an initial resolution.
The purpose of the meeting is to increase the provision of legal aid services, ensure equal access to justice and promote capable representation in criminal trials. (KDC)
