Jammu, 29 July: Amidst the increasing demands of transparency and justice in the murder of Parvez Ahmed, a tribal youth of Nikki Tawi region of Jammu issued a public notice demanding cooperation from citizens in the ongoing investigation on Tuesday.
Notice voluntarily invites individuals to come forward with any relevant information, eyewitness accounts, video footage, or other evidence that can aid in investigating Parvez Ahmed’s death. The notice stated that the SDM, which is assigned to conduct an independent investigation, will record the statement by 4 August.
The matter has expressed public displeasure after suggesting the participation of law enforcement officers in the death of youth. Two policemen have already been placed under suspension in relation to the case, while a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to conduct a parallel and intensive investigation.
The officials have urged the public to help in the investigation process to help establish facts around the tragic incident. SDM South Jammu will serve as a nodal officer for public statements and collections of materials.
