Saudi Arabia's 'Sleeping Prince' Alvalid bin Khalid passes after a 20 -year coma

Prince Khalid bin Talal has announced to pass his son, Prince Alvalid bin Khalid bin Talal, about two decades in coma after a serious traffic accident in London in 2005.

According to the report published in the Saudi Gazette, Prince Khalid said that the funeral prayer for his son will be held on Sunday at the Imam Turkish bin Abdullah Mosque of Riyadh after ASR prayer.

Widely known as “The Sleeping Prince”, Prince Alvalid fell into a full coma after an accident during his studies in Britain.

He remained under close medical supervision for nearly 20 years, despite a brief episode of a limited movement, never regained consciousness, which offered a fleeting moments of hope.

During this period, Prince Khalid strongly opposed the removal of life support, expressing unwavering belief that life and death completely rest in God’s hands.

His son’s condition attracted a lot of sympathy by following his story to millions of people in the entire state and beyond.

Prince Alvled’s prolonged medical struggle ended with his death announcement on Saturday, closing a chapter, which deeply touched the hearts of many people.
