Sanjy 2025: J&K Traffic Police released traffic advisor for Jammu-Srinagar NHW, other major routes

Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir have issued a traffic advisory for July 15, 2025, underlining the traffic plan for major routes including Jammu -Srinagar National Highway (NH -44). The aim of the advisor is to ensure a smooth vehicle movement between the ongoing Shri Amarnath ji Yatra and challenging road conditions.

According to the advisor, Sanji convoy, light motor vehicle (LMVs), and private cars will be allowed to be subject to both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, fair weather and better road conditions. However, heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed in alternative days. TCU will contact Ramban before the traffic control units in Jammu and Srinagar release traffic.

Advisor also specifies a cut-off timing for Nagota, Jakhani and Kajigund’s LMV and passenger vehicles. HMVS will be allowed from Navig Tunnel to Jammu after assessing road and traffic status, with no HMV permission after 1900 hours.

Additionally, the advisory exposes specific routes for certain types of vehicles. For example, petrol, diesel, and LPG bulk gas carrying tankers, as well as the empty vehicles of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), will use the Mughal Road while returning to Jammu.

Passengers are advised to check the road conditions before starting their journey and avoid unnecessary stops, especially near the landslides and shooting stone areas. Vehicle owners are also requested to take their vehicles in good condition and take enough fuel.

The traffic police has provided contact numbers for passengers to investigate the road status and plan their journey accordingly.

People are advised to travel only after confirming the road situation from traffic control units:-
