Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra may not come to all markets: report

By | Published | No Comments

The various rumors and leaks we’ve received so far suggest that Samsung may launch more than one book-style Galaxy Z Fold 6 model this year. While the timeline for these launches is still pretty rough, it’s said that Samsung may hold its next Unpacked event in Paris earlier than usual. There are also a lot of rumors involving not only more affordable Galaxy Z Fold models, but also higher-end models. It’s labeled Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and is expected to have better features than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 model. Now, reports suggest that this new high-end foldable model may not reach all markets.

A Report Galaxyclub.nl says the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is already in development. It also states that the device was developed under model code Q6A. The site reports that Samsung is developing a new device with model number SM-F958, which sources say is the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with the “Ultra” branding. This is because the last digit of Samsung’s model numbering system usually indicates the model type.

According to reports, the number “6” is usually used to describe the “Fold model”, while the number “8” is used for the “Ultra” model in recent years. For example, the current Galaxy Z Fold 5 is called SM-F946, while the upcoming Fold is expected to have the SM-F956 model number. At the same time, the model number of Galaxy S24 Ultra is SM-S928.

In fact, the new model hints at an unusual fusion of the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S lines, with the “Ultra” branding transferred to Samsung’s foldable phone for the first time. Samsung also currently uses the “Ultra” brand on its Galaxy Tab S tablet line and Galaxy Book laptop line.

However, it’s not all good news. Galaxyclub.nl also revealed that Samsung is currently developing the SM-F958N model. The letter “N” at the end indicates that it is a variant of the device developed for the Korean market. The currently available information does not specify device models or variants for other markets. This is why sources have concluded that Samsung may only release a standard model called Galaxy Z Fold 6 at launch.

In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 model at the upcoming Unpacked show in Paris, France this year.
