Toronto-Spirits Industry says Canada’s reaction to the US-Estrated Trade War has led to a rapid sales of boz from the US, as well as low sales.
In a joint release, the Spirits Canada and the United States Distilled Spirits Council say the sale of American hard alcohol fell 66 percent compared to a year ago in the period from March 5 to April 31.
It said that the sale of Canadian and imported souls was also low, causing a total decline of 12.8 percent in the sales of the soul for a stretch of about two months compared to the previous year.
The figures come as many Canadian premiere, who bought Canadians, and push back against the comments made by the US Ambassador Pete Hokestra in Canada, who told at a conference on Monday that US President Donald Trump feels that Canada is “bad” in part, due to a ban on Canada American liquor.
Many provinces removed American alcohol from shelves as Trump imposed tariffs and threatened Annex Canada, leading to a sharp drop in sales from the country.
BC Premier David EB stated that Hocastra’s comment shows that Canadian people’s efforts to stand up for Trump are “an impact”, and they encouraged people to “maintain”.
