Sakeena ITOO District Hospital Surprise inspects Pulwama

Health and Medical Education Minister, Sekena Itu today inspected the district hospital Pulwama to evaluate the health facilities and other facilities available to the public.

MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir was also with the minister during the yatra.

On the occasion, Sakeena iToo comprehended emergency services, OPD, maternity and child care units, diagnostic labs as well as various hospital departments such as pharmacy wing. He paid attention to the functionality of medical equipment, the hygiene of essential medicines and the availability of the presence of employees.

During the inspection, the minister interacted directly with patients and their attendants to measure his experiences and collect on-ground feedback about the facilities available to the public. He assured them that any deficiencies related to healthcare would be addressed immediately.

The Health Minister highlighted that the present government, led by Omar Abdullah, is constantly making efforts to increase service distribution in government health institutions during the length and width of Jammu and Kashmir, which has given special attention to rural and understanding areas.

Sakeena IToo during inspection also interacted with doctors and other paramedical staff. He emphasized the need for continuous vigilance and more accountability from medical staff in the hospital. He directed the hospital administration to ensure 24 × 7 availability of doctors and employees and proper maintenance of duty rosters. The minister said, “Health is a priority area for this government and we are committed to creating a system that is skilled, kind and accountable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He further said that these trips are being done to evaluate the on-ground implementation of government health schemes and to ensure that the hospitals are fully prepared to meet the needs of the population. “These inspections are part of the strategy of the departments to eliminate decency and encourage the culture of excellence in health services for the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, the minister said.
