Srinagar, June 13: Minister of Health and Medical Education, Minister of Social Welfare and Education, Sekena Itu today chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat, discussing various issues arising during the release of benefits under various major social welfare schemes, such as old age pension, widow pension, Ladli BT, Marriage Assistance, Integrated Social Security Scheme and others.
The meeting was attended by Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Secretary in Social Welfare Department, Director Finance Social Welfare Department, Senior Representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other concerned officials.
Addressing the officials during the meeting, Minister Sekena emphasized the convenience of the common people, especially from those who belong to the dowstroden communities and low income groups. He asked the officials to pay timely payment to the eligible beneficiaries in strict adherence to eligibility criteria under various schemes.

The minister directed the officials to streamline the process of payment to the beneficiaries and resolve the issues related to the base plantation of the beneficiaries. He called upon the representatives of JK Bank to remove these beneficiaries with procedures such as PAN or Form 16 requirements as they belong to the lower income group.
Minister Sekaina further asked the Social Welfare Department to re -see the MoU organized by the department with Jammu and Kashmir Bank for the implementation of Ladli Beti Scheme and update certain conditions in it for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
While reviewing some other issues related to the smooth saturation of social sector plans, the minister emphasized the importance of the transparent system, highlighting that the delays and repetitions should be fully avoided during the disbursement of payment to the beneficiaries.
