Canadian Rock Band Rush Gave a new drummer to change Late Neel Pearrt His newly announced 2026 tour ahead.

Now, more than five years after his tragic passing and a decade after his last tour, Bandmates Geddi Lee and Alex Lifeson have added 42 -year -old German drummer and musician Anika Nils to their lineups.
“This is really an honor,” the award -winning musician wrote on it on Monday Instagram Story. “Big shoes to fill! Thanks, Geddi and Alex, to trust me and welcome me on this incredible journey!”

Announced on social media on Monday, the tour has been described as “the music, heritage and the celebration of the life of Rush’s music, heritage and the life of the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peert”.
Rush will perform two nights in each place. “Each show will have a separate selection of songs and Rush will produce each night settist with a catalog of 35 songs, including his biggest hit and fan favorite,” he teased on Instagram.

Rush last performed live on his R40 Live Tour in 2015, in which the Piut formally retired from the band after a final performance of August at Los Angeles.
The following year, they were detected by an aggressive form of brain cancer glioblastoma. After his death in 2020, Lee and Lifeson called the Peyart “friend, soul brother and bandmate in 45 years”.
Piut first joined Rush in 1974, replacing the original drummer John Rutsi. He stayed with the band for 40 years, which included his first major four-year gap starting in 1997, with a series of individual tragedies-a car accident of his eldest daughter Selena in a car accident and the next year his first wife was lost for cancer.
The band later returned in 2001, to release its 17th studio album, Vapor trailsin 2002,
In 2013, the band was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
