Srinagar, July 10: The Department of Information Technology has denied a news item called “Technical Glich Render J&K RTI Portal Defink, Chox Information” published by Greater Kashmir on 9 July 2025, stating that the content of the article is factually wrong and does not reflect the actual status of J&K RTI portal.
According to the department, RTI portal (https://rtionline.jk.gov.in/) It is completely functional and operations without any technical disruption confirmed by NIC (National Informatics Center), which manages the backnd operation of the portal.
The official use data clearly indicates that the portal is completely turned on and is effectively serving its objective. The portal has received more than 15,800 RTI applications since the launch on January 10, 2025, 11,631 already settled and currently under the process of 4,260. In the last one month, more than 3,200 applications were filed showing strong public engagement and credibility of the system. In the last one week, 662 applications were submitted, including 86 in the last 24 hours.
