New Delhi, October 30 (IANS) The All India Executive Board meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will begin in Jabalpur on Thursday. The high-level meeting will focus on outlining programs for the upcoming centenary celebrations of the organization marking 100 years of its establishment.
The meeting will be attended by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Saha-Sarkaryavah and other senior officials including Sanghchalaks, Karyavahs and provincial pracharaks of all 11 regions and 46 provinces of the organization. Selected senior workers from across the country will also participate in the discussions.
More than 500 top RSS functionaries, including Bhagwat and Hosabale, have already reached Jabalpur amid tight security arrangements. Core committee meetings and strategy sessions are being held at Kachnar Club in Vijayanagar area of the city.
This meeting is important as it is the first such meeting in Jabalpur after 41 years. The last national conference of RSS officials in the city was held in 1984.
Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale reached Jabalpur on 26 October and the organization has been holding meetings continuously for eight days – a rare occurrence in the history of the Sangh.
According to RSS sources, this session is officially part of the All India Executive Board Conference being held from October 28 to November 2. The objective of the meeting is to finalize action plans for the centenary year with a focus on strengthening the social and cultural reach of the organisation.
During a press conference in Jabalpur on Tuesday, RSS Prachar Pramukh (publicity chief) Sunil Ambekar announced that the Sangh will organize around one lakh Hindu conferences across the country to celebrate its 100th anniversary. These conferences will include youth-centric programs and will be organized at the locality and block level to expand community engagement.
Ambekar said RSS volunteers would conduct a 25 to 40-day door-to-door campaign between November and January. The campaign will emphasize family values, social responsibility, civic awareness and the Panch Parivartan (Five Changes) initiative – which aims to promote moral and social reform at the grassroots level.
The RSS centenary year, which runs from October 2025 to October 2026, was officially inaugurated last month. To mark the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin in Delhi, acknowledging the RSS’s contribution to nation building.
PM Modi also lauded the RSS’s “phenomenal and inspirational” journey in the last century, praising its efforts in promoting cultural unity, discipline and social service.
Founded in Nagpur in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh began as a volunteer-based organization dedicated to promoting national consciousness, cultural awareness and civic duty among citizens.
