French President Emmanuel Macron, the chief guest of India’s 75th Republic Day, will reach Jaipur on Thursday. 25 January. Macron is set to begin his two-day visit to India today by exploring the beauty of the Pink City of Rajasthan and will be joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a tour of some heritage sites and a road show.

With him being the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 on the duty road in Delhi, the French President will become the sixth leader of France to grace the prestigious annual festival.

Notably, Macron accepted a last-minute invitation to the Republic Day celebrations, which demonstrated the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India

  • According to the Ministry of External Affairs, President Macron’s plane is scheduled to land at Jaipur airport at 2:30 pm on Thursday and he will depart for Delhi at around 8:50 pm.
  • After his arrival, he is scheduled to visit Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. Reportedly, he will also attend a cultural program to be held at Amer Fort.
  • During his nearly six-hour stay in Jaipur, Macron will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a roadshow before the two leaders hold wide-ranging talks on diplomatic relations between India and France at the luxury hotel Taj Rambagh Palace. India’s proposed purchase of 26 Rafale-M (Marine version) fighter jets and three Scorpene submarines is also expected to figure in the talks.
  • The road show is scheduled to begin at 6 pm in the Jantar Mantar area, while PM Modi and Macron are scheduled to begin their talks at 7:15 pm.
  • He will participate in the Republic Day celebrations on Friday, January 26, from 10:30 am on the duty path in Delhi. The French President is scheduled to depart Delhi at 10:05 pm after meeting President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
