The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared Rishabh Pant fully fit to play in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant has undergone 14 months of rehabilitation, started training ahead of the new IPL season, and has now been cleared to join the Delhi Capitals camp. However, the BCCI in its release confirmed that pace bowlers Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna will not be available for the T20 league this season.
Pant suffered a near-fatal car accident in December 2022 and has since completely retired from cricket. The wicketkeeper started playing cricket a few months ago. He joined the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and trained his fitness rigorously to be able to play in the IPL.

Mohd Shami:The fast bowler successfully underwent surgery on February 26, 2024, for his right heel problem. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI medical team and has been ruled out of the upcoming TATA IPL 2024.
As for Prasidh and Shami, the absence of the pace duo from the 2024 IPL season could be a major blow to their chances of representing India in the T20 World Cup to be held after the T20 league ends.
