comedian Ricky Gervais is set to star in a new series dedicated to the British sitcom,
Gervais will appear on Joe & David’s Magical Sitcom Tour, a part-travelogue and part-retrospective show that will see comedian Jo Wilkinson and David Earl plan a special themed day for each other.
Each leg of their ‘tour’ will be based on the classics: Office, Porridge Or Faulty Towers,
Gervais, 64, will star in Office Wilkinson and Earl entertain for the episode and perform the David Brent song freelove freeway,
The hit BBC sitcom, which ran between 2001 and 2003, was co-created by Gervais, who played regional manager David Brent.

The mockumentary-style show and its American counterpart, which ran between 2005 and 2013, both earned numerous awards.
“I’m obsessed,” said Wilkinson, 50. sitcom Since I was a boy, finding locations and other things related to some of my favorite shows has been a dream come true… and that’s why I refused to charge for this job.
The Earl, 51, said: “I’m so grateful to UKTV for giving me the opportunity to make this series that Joe and I have been talking about for ages.
“It honestly feels like I’ve won a contest where the prize is stepping into my favorite sitcom world through the TV screen. This 51-year-old is really, really happy.”

Wilkinson, currently appearing celebrity traitorAnd Earl will visit filming locations, reenact his favorite on-screen moments and hear behind-the-scenes stories from the cast, crew and special guests.
Both starred in Gervais’ hit Netflix show after lifeAbout a journalist who is grieving the death of his wife.

Earl is also known for playing Kev in Gervais’ sitcom derekand played the role of Brian in his 2010 film graveyard junctionWhich is set in Gervais’ hometown of Reading.
Executive producer Peter Holmes said: “This show is the definition of that overused TV term ‘passion project’.
“Joe and David love sitcom And their love of form and each other make them the perfect pair to take us on a tour of these comedy classics.
Joe & David’s Magical Sitcom Tour will air on You & Gold in 2026.
