ELO frontman Jeff Lynne confirmed the keyboardist’s death in a social media post on Wednesday, May 1.

Expressing her grief on Instagram, Lynn wrote an emotional note, reading, “It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of my longtime collaborator and dear friend Richard Tandy.”
