Rescue efforts continue in a northern BC mine where three workers are trapped underground.

Operator Pneument Corp has said that he was working to gather expert teams from nearby mines to respond to the situation in Red Chris Mine in a remote field near Dis Lake, BC, BC.

Three contractors, two of British Columbia and one from Ontario, were trapped on Tuesday after two “collapse of land incidents”, which the company says that is the way of access to the underground work area.

It says that the workers were more than 500 meters from the first decline and were asked to move to a nominated asylum station before blocking each other collapse and restricted communication.

The company says that before cutting the communication, the workers confirmed that they were in a bay of asylum, with enough food, water and ventilation for “extended migration”.

The company has stated that it was assessing technologies to restore communication and bring workers to surface, while Premier David EB, who announced the accident on Wednesday, said a senior Geotechnical Inspector has been sent to support rescue.

The Imperial Metals Corp has a minority stake in the mine and has said that its priority is ensuring emergency response teams supporting the safety and rescue efforts of three workers.
