Republicans on the House Oversight Committee were heckled when they announced the plan. Contempt of Congress proceedings begin against Hillary Clinton.
Chairman James Comer joined Reps. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Andy Biggs of Ohio, Michael Crowder of Texas and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania in announcing a contempt of Congress lawsuit against the former secretary of state and first lady for her unwillingness to comply with ongoing subpoenas from relevant committees. “We will hold the Clintons criminally responsible for contempt of Congress,” Cuomo told reporters on Wednesday. “We believe that because this subpoena was issued in a bipartisan manner.”

Cuomo noted that Democrats on the Oversight Committee have previously been involved in subpoenaing former presidents.
