Republic Day 2024: Bengaluru Police issues traffic advisory ahead of celebrations

As the country prepares for the 75th Republic Day on Friday, January 26, various cities have imposed traffic restrictions to facilitate the smooth conduct of parades and events. While major parades and official functions are scheduled in cities like Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Mumbai and Kolkata, Bengaluru City Police also issued traffic restrictions on Friday to ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles.

Notably, this comes ahead of a major Republic Day event to be held at the Manekshaw Parade Ground on Friday, where 38 contingents will participate in the celebrations.

Bengaluru traffic restrictions for Republic Day 2024

According to the latest reports, Bengaluru City Police has issued a traffic advisory stating that vehicular movement on major roads will be diverted on Friday. It has also directed that all invitees with car passes will have to alight and park their cars at designated locations mentioned in the pass.

However, emergency service vehicles like ambulances, water tankers, fire tenders, PWD vehicles, KSRP, CRT and BBMP will enter the parade ground from Gate No. 2 on Cubbon Road and park their vehicles behind the Fort Wall (southern side).

On Friday, vehicular movement will be diverted from BRV Junction in both directions from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Kamaraj Road Jn. On Cubbon Road. Additionally, the traffic advisory states that vehicles coming from Infantry Road towards Manipal Center should take Infantry Road Safina Plaza Left Turn – Main Guard Cross Road – Alley’s Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road Junction – Right Turn – KR Road And should go towards Cubbon. Road Junction, -Left Turn- Cubbon Road to Manipal Center Junction.

On the other hand, vehicles coming from Manipal Junction towards BRV Junction on Cubbon Road will be restricted near Manipal Center and will have to turn right near Webbs Junction, and go to MGRoad – Mayohall Junction, – Arts and Crafts Junction. , – Anil Kumble Circle – Right Turn – BRV Junction. And proceed towards the central road.

Vehicles coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Cubbon Road will have to go straight to Central Street Junction – Right Turn – Infantry Road – Safina Plaza – Left Turn – Main Guard Cross Road – Allies Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road Junction. – Right Turn – KR Road Junction. – Left Turn- and Cubbon Road to Manipal Center Junction.

Apart from vehicle restrictions, Bengaluru City Police has also issued a no parking zone in and around the Parade Ground on Cubbon Road:

1. No parking will be allowed on Central Street from Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand.

2. No parking will be allowed on Cubbon Road from CTO Circle to KR Road and Cubbon Road Junction.

3. On MG Road also, parking will be prohibited on both sides from Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle.

While there is a ban on parking of invitees at the Manekshaw Parade Ground, Bengaluru Police has instructed invitees not to bring mobile phones, helmets, cameras, umbrellas or any other equipment for security reasons.
