Relief in 77 cases, rejection in 47 serious cases: General Minister

On September 29 (IANS) from the 201 social movement in Mumbai, the state, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Sheller, led by the sub-committee of the Maharashtra Cabinet Sub-Committee, recommended the withdrawal of cases against 77 applicants on Monday.

The minister clarified that cases, serious crimes and personal or civil disputes related to crimes against women cannot be forgiven under government policy. Therefore, such cases have been clearly rejected for return.

He further stated that according to the government resolutions and instructions of the Supreme Court, in six cases related to MLAs, former MLAs, MPs and former MPs, the final decision will have to be taken by the Bombay High Court. He said that steps are being taken in this direction.

Of the 201 applications received by the sub-committee, 77 have been recommended for reconsideration, and these cases will now be placed before the regional committees headed by the deputy commissioners of the police, informed by the Minister Sheller.

He said that many activists, political party workers, protesters and participants in ideological movements were booked unnecessarily in cases.

He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide him relief from such baseless matters.

Cases, labor movement and other such events will be open for review on the basis of new applications, registered during events such as Ganesotsav, Navratri, Dahi Handi Ceremony, Social Programs organized during the period.

A new meeting in this regard will be called soon. Earlier, Ganeshotsav mandals, Navratri mandals, social organizations, union representatives and workers should submit their applications to the government, appealed to the Minister Sheller.
