New Delhi, Nov 10 (IANS) Reacting to the blast incident at Delhi’s Red Fort in which at least ten people lost their lives and over a dozen were injured, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said, “The news of the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort metro station is extremely heart-wrenching and worrying. The news of the death of many innocent people in this tragic incident is extremely sad.”
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said, “In this hour of grief, I stand with the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones and express my deepest condolences to them. I hope for the speedy recovery of all the injured.”
West Bengal CM and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee also tweeted, “Deeply shocked to hear about the tragic blast in New Delhi. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and I pray for strength and speedy recovery for all those injured.”
Similarly, Congress MP from Wayanad Priyanka Gandhi also described the incident as “heartbreaking” and said, “May the departed souls rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
The blast near Delhi’s Red Fort metro station on Monday spread panic in the national capital and prompted authorities to issue a high alert in the Delhi-NCR region, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai.
Notably, Jammu and Kashmir Police in the morning busted an inter-state international terror module linked to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, leading to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, timers and other material in Faridabad area of Haryana near New Delhi. Police said seven people have been arrested so far.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, the action has been taken after the discovery of Jaish-e-Mohammed posters pasted at various places in Bunpora Nowgam, Srinagar on October 19, threatening the police and security forces.
After the explosion at the Red Fort, this recovery took place just a day before the second phase of Bihar assembly elections.
